Comprehensive Childbirth Education in Just One Afternoon
Preparing for birth shouldn't require weeks of classes, but you also deserve more than a one-hour hospital tour.
Our Labor & Birth Intensive is a comprehensive, evidence-informed childbirth class designed for families who want practical, realistic preparation in a convenient single-class format. Whether you're planning a home birth or hospital birth, this class will help you approach labor with greater confidence and understanding.
Instead of focusing on one "right" way to give birth, we'll discuss what normal labor looks like, how birth typically unfolds, comfort techniques that actually work, and how to make informed decisions if your birth takes an unexpected turn.
During this class, you'll learn about:
How labor begins and progresses
The stages and phases of labor
When to stay home and when it's time to leave for your birth location
Practical comfort measures and natural pain management techniques
Breathing, positioning, movement, massage, hydrotherapy, and partner support
Common medical interventions, including their benefits, risks, and alternatives
Induction, augmentation, epidurals, assisted birth, and cesarean birth
How to communicate with your healthcare team and advocate for your preferences
What to expect during the first hours after birth
Immediate newborn procedures and early breastfeeding basics
Recovery during the immediate postpartum period
Who should attend?
This class is ideal for:
First-time parents
Families wanting a refresher before another birth
Home birth, birth center, and hospital birth families
Partners who want to feel confident supporting labor
Anyone who prefers a one-day class instead of a multi-week series
Our teaching philosophy
Birth is unpredictable, but it doesn't have to feel overwhelming.
Our goal is not to teach you how to have one specific type of birth. Our goal is to help you understand your options, recognize normal labor, make informed decisions, and feel prepared no matter where or how your baby is born.
We believe informed families make confident families.
