Group Class: $99 per couple

Our Newborn Class is designed for both new parents learning to care for a baby and parents who just need a short refresher course. This class covers the basics of caring for a new baby, including diapering, breastfeeding, bottle-feeding, soothing a crying baby, bathing, CPR and choking rescue, and car seat safety.

Bringing home a new baby is exciting, but it can also feel overwhelming. Our Newborn Care class is designed to help parents and caregivers feel prepared, informed, and confident before their baby's arrival.

Whether you're a first-time parent or welcoming another little one after several years, this class provides practical, evidence-based information you'll use from the very first day home.

Led by a licensed midwife and paramedic, this interactive class combines professional expertise with real-world experience to help you understand what is normal, recognize when to seek medical care, and feel more confident caring for your newborn.

During this class, we'll cover:

The First Hours & Days

  • What to expect immediately after birth

  • Normal newborn appearance and behaviors

  • Understanding your baby's transition to life outside the womb

  • Routine newborn procedures and screenings

Feeding Your Baby

  • Breastfeeding basics

  • Formula feeding fundamentals

  • Recognizing hunger and fullness cues

  • Expected feeding patterns

  • How to know your baby is getting enough to eat

Everyday Newborn Care

  • Diapering

  • Umbilical cord care

  • Bathing

  • Dressing your baby appropriately

  • Nail care

  • Soothing techniques

  • Swaddling and safe babywearing basics

Understanding Your Baby

  • Normal sleep patterns

  • Infant cues and communication

  • Why babies cry—and how to comfort them

  • Common newborn reflexes

  • Typical growth and development during the first weeks

Keeping Baby Safe

  • Safe sleep recommendations

  • Car seat safety basics

  • Preventing illness

  • When to call your healthcare provider

  • Warning signs that require immediate medical attention

Infant CPR Education

Every parent hopes they'll never need CPR, but knowing what to do can make all the difference during an emergency.

This class includes hands-on infant CPR education, giving participants an opportunity to learn and practice the skills needed to respond confidently if the unexpected happens.

This course includes CPR education and skills practice but is not a certification course.
